The New Orleans star has the option to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

However, the Pelicans can offer him a supermax contract, which will see him earn a reported £156m.

The Pelicans have struggled this season, and are currently 14th in the NBA Western Conference.

The Lakers, however, are eighth, and the Warriors second.

Whilst Los Angeles are commonly believed to be the frontrunners for the star’s signature, the Warriors are reportedly preparing to lose either Klay Thompson or Kevin Durant this summer, leaving them open to signing a new leader.

The Lakers reportedly want a new megastar to line up alongside LeBron James next year, and believe Davis could be that man.

Davis is signed to the same agent as James, which led many to think he could want to team up on-court.

Speaking to The Athletic, he opened up on his future, and suggested that he could move to either the Lakers or the Warriors in order to get a NBA Championship ring.

“Winning. Winning,” He said when asked what he wants to achieve in his career.

“Made the playoffs twice. Both times we were there, it was some of the most fun I’ve had playing basketball.

“The atmosphere, going on the road and trying to get wins. Being able to get a playoff win. All the preparation.

“Every game on TV, it’s just, you know, it’s just different and it’s fun.

“So my main goal is just to win.

“I think every player who comes into the NBA wants one or two things. Every player wants to have a ring, to be a champion.

“The other thing is I think every player in the league wants to be an MVP.

“Everybody wants to be able to say they were the best player in the league for that year, so my dreams at first are the same as every other player. I want to get a ring.”
