A strong earthquake has shaken the south of Iran, close to the Persian Gulf. The tremors were reportedly felt in the UAE.
Unite States Geological Survey puts the earthquake. According to the Emirati National Center of Meteorology, which also recorded the tremors, the earthquake occurred at around 2:54pm local time, at the depth of 42km. The agency reported the quake as being of 5.0 magnitude.
There were no immediate reports of the level of destruction or casualties.
Minor tremor felt at Dubai Academic city around 2:55pm today. Possibly an earthquake somewhere nearby…
