That’s the view of former Arsenal star Ray Parlour, who believes Sarri could be sacked in the summer depending on where the Blues finish this year.
Chelsea have a chance to get back into the top four when they travel to Manchester City today (4pm).
Sarri has come under pressure in recent weeks, with Chelsea struggling to pick up results.
They bounced back with a 5-0 thumping of Huddersfield, though have fallen out of the top four of the Premier League.
And while Parlour acknowledges that Sarri is finding it tough, he believes he will stay until the season is over.
“Every single manager is under pressure,” Parlour told Express Sport.
“You don’t get time in football, you certainly won’t see a Sir Alex Ferguson or Arsene Wenger with 20 years again.
“We know, financially, that getting into the Champions League is so important.
“It’s an interesting one, I really can’t work Chelsea out sometimes.
“They go to Bournemouth and lose 4-0 and then can play really well [vs Huddersfield].
“I hate to see managers get sacked so early. Chelsea have got to give Sarri until the end of the season and then assess the situation.
“If they come sixth or fifth, then maybe it’s not good enough and Sarri knows that.
“Every manager is looking over their shoulder, a couple of bad results and then you’re out the door.
“Chelsea are still playing for big, big trophies. There’s so much to play for, and you’ll be looking who has won the trophies too.”
Sarri took over as Chelsea boss in the summer, replacing Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are still in the FA Cup and Europa League as the season reaches its final few months.
They host Manchester United in the fifth round of the FA Cup and will come up against Malmo in Europe.
