Liverpool head to Munich tonight in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 clash.
The tie is evenly poised at 0-0 after a goalless first leg at Anfield three weeks ago.
Neuer impressed in that first leg, making a handful of good saves to keep the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane at bay.
But there could be doubt over Neuer’s fitness for tonight with the German goalkeeper nursing a hand injury.
He is currently wearing a cast but Neuer picked up the injury in February, and he missed two Bundesliga games last month.
But the shot-stopper has returned in recent weeks despite still being forced to wear a cast.
The Bayern captain said: “My thumb was injured since February 1 and I have to wear this cast but I haven’t checked on it because I am focused on the matches but nothing is hurting with my injury.”
Neuer will come up against Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson tonight, if the German has been passed fit.
Alisson is in his debut season with the Reds and has impressed so far for Jurgen Klopp.
The Brazilian has shone as Liverpool hunt down their first ever Premier League title.
And that has led to some comparisons with Neuer, who helped Germany to World Cup victory in 2014.
But Alisson does not think he is on the same level as Neuer yet.
“I can’t compare myself with Neuer,” he said.
“He is one of the best in the last 10 years, maybe he is the best one. He has won everything and I’m just starting.
“He is a reference for me and is a great guy as well. I have played against him, playing against him is a dream come true.
“I don’t think I can compare myself with him.”
