Manchester United and Liverpool have been busy in the transfer market over the past few seasons as they look to strengthen their squads.

Signings such as Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah have bolstered their rosters and dramatically improved on-field performances.

However, the two clubs didn’t have it all their own way in the summer window with certain new arrivals still yet to reach their full potential.

Research by TheSportsman.com has revealed which Premier League signings have ben the worst value for money so far this season, and it’s not pretty reading for United or Liverpool fans.

The data has been generated by adding up a wide range of different criteria then diving the total by the player’s transfer fee.

Therefore any loanees or free transfers have not been included in the study while January arrivals are also left out.

Manchester City supporters will be surprised to see one of their superstar signings included among the biggest flops who are offering least value for money.

Meanwhile, Watford and Burnley have been guilty of spending cash poorly ahead of the 2018/19 campaign – but which players are among the top 10 worst value?
