Express Sport understands United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward will back his new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this summer.
United this week confirmed Solskjaer has signed a three-year deal to stay at Old Trafford.
And according to the Evening Standard, the Red Devils have transfers lined up ahead of the summer window.
They say Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho tops their wishlist.
The Standard add that United are also keeping tabs on six other stars.
Callum Hudson-Odoi, Declan Rice, Aaron Wan Bissaka, Bruno Fernandes, Raphael Varane and Kalidou Koulibally are all targets for United.
Chelsea ace Hudson-Odoi could be on the move this summer after struggling to get regular game time this season under Maurizio Sarri.
As for Rice and Wan Bissaka, the West Ham and Crystal Palace youngsters have impressed since breaking into the starting line-ups.
Varane and Koulibally are both long-term targets for United, with the Red Devils keen to sign a new centre-back.
Former Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho was adamant United needed a new defender to lead the back four.
Real Madrid’s Varane is said to be a big fan of new United boss Solskjaer, while Koulibally has been tipped to replace the Frenchman at the Bernabeu.
Solskjaer has been vocal on United’s summer transfer plans, insisting the Red Devils will spend wisely.
“United is a club that has money, and that has to be spent in a reasonable way,” he said.
“People who know me, know that I will use that in a good way.
“We have a plan with the club, they have scouted players for longer than I have been here, and we have players that we need to keep. We will not spend money just to spend money.
“Lifting trophies is the expectation and what we are used to.
“I hope I can be a part of that and will do everything to make sure we can stand out there on the pitch celebrating a trophy.”
