The Reds sit two points above Manchester City at the summit of the Premier League, having played a game more than their rivals.
City still have six games to play while Liverpool have five to go.
In what’s been one of the most hotly-contested Premier League title races for years, Liverpool have improved tenfold defensively.
City haven’t been as dominant as they were last season, but if they win the remainder of their games, they’ll regain their crown.
There is, however, one team who could derail City’s attempts at becoming the first team to retain the Premier League since United in 2009.
One crafty Twitter user noted that BURNLEY are the team who can hand Liverpool title glory.
Burnley’s record against Premier League reigning champions, as the tweet noted, is a rather good one.
The tweet read: “Don’t worry Liverpool, every season Burnley have been in the PL, we’ve beaten the reigning champions! We’ve got this.
“2009/10 Burnley 1 – Man Utd 0
“2014/15 Burnley 1 – Man City 0
“2016/17 Burnley 1 – Leicester 0
“2017/18 Chelsea 2 – Burnley 3
“2018/19 Burnley vs Man City.”
Sean Dyche’s were one of just three teams last season to draw with Pep Guardiola’s side, when the two sides played out a 1-1 contest at Turf Moor.
And Jurgen Klopp will certainly be hoping Dyche can do the same again when City face Burnley on April 28.
A title win for Liverpool would make it their first in 29 years, and they would become the seventh team to win a Premier League.
City play Crystal Palace next in the league while Liverpool come up against Chelsea.
