The World Cup winner started United’s final game of the season at home to Cardiff but laboured in the middle of the park as the visitors raced into a 2-0 lead before an hour’s worth of action.
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing opened the scoring from the penalty spot after 23 minutes before doubling the lead in the 53rd minute.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer included a number of youngsters in his matchday squad but the inclusion of Mason Greenwood was the only real shock when he named his starting XI.
The likes of Pogba, Marcus Rashford and David de Gea kept their places in the side despite struggling for form.
And it was Pogba who felt the brunt of the criticism as United fans took to their droves on Twitter.
“Wouldn’t be sad to see Pogba leave in the summer,” one fan said.
Another agreed: “I’m literally sick and disgusted by every touch Pogba makes this game. What an absolute clown he is.”
Pogba became the club’s record signing when he rejoined from Juventus for £89million in 2016.
And one fan claimed it was the worst piece of business they have ever done.
“No doubt, the worst transfer in our entire history and the worst midfielder I’ve ever seen at our club,” the said.
Others called for a total revamp in the summer. One supporter said: “How long before a Utd manager has the balls to sack Pogba the cancer of the dressing room?
“Fergie sacked loads of stars who were at the top of their game but were misfits in the team dynamics!”
Another added: “Man Utd need a good clear out and start again. 2-0 down to Cardiff at Old Trafford?????
“Unthinkable. Manchester United start with #Pogba The door’s over there….”
Another furious fan observed: Pogba getting paid millions to be a sulky faced p***k for 90 mins, injection of new young players like Greenwood is what we need & a load out.”
Another agreed: “Everyone who thinks Pogba is the main man, the bloke can’t even hack it against Huddersfield or Cardiff.
“Don’t care who he has around him, he’s done fu**k all for way too long.”
