Liverpool narrowly missed out on the Premier League title on Sunday despite winning 2-0 at home to Wolves.
They headed into the final day needing Manchester City to drop points away to Brighton in order to give them hope of claiming their first league title in 29 years.
It looked as if that could happen when Sadio Mane opened the scoring 17 minutes in, with Glenn Murray heading the Seagulls ahead against City a few moments later.
But despite Liverpool’s consolidation of three points, City rallied on the seaside and ran out 4-1 winners, retaining their crown.
Salah was distraught after the result, struggling to piece together a reflective monologue on the season.
“We only lost one game all season,” he stated.
“We gave everything. We got 97 points. We will fight next season for the title.”
The Egyptian King has now taken to Twitter to rally the Anfield faithful ahead of their next big fixture on June 1, though.
