16:45 UPDATE: About Lorenzo Insigne…
Jurgen Klopp might feel like reviving his interest in Lorenzo Insigne after Aurelio De Laurentiis admitted he cannot force the Napoli star to stay put.
Liverpool were credited with serious interest in Insigne towards the end of last month by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
And the playmaker would represent a valuable asset if Klopp was to add him to his squad of two-time Champions League finalists.
“I understand that he has a contract, he is a Napoli player and he is from Naples,” De Laurentiis told Tutto Mercato Web, when asked if Insigne will be at Napoli next season.
“However, this responsibility [being captain] has played in the past, and could play him in the future, an idiosyncrasy with the fans that led to misunderstandings, I can’t force him to stay.”

That also applies to full-back Phil Bardsley and midfielder Steven Defour, as boss Sean Dyche had already revealed.
In a statement about those players on Wednesday, Burnley also said with regard to Crouch that discussions between the striker and the club are set to follow over whether he stays on for next term.

Real Madrid are desperate to manoeuvre a transfer that will see Gareth Bale leave the Bernabeu and they hope Tottenham will be tempted with a £10 million loan deal.
Zinedine Zidane has a rocky relationship with Gareth Bale and the Frenchman’s return to the Los Blancos has once again put the player’s future at the club in doubt.
The club don’t see Bale in their future plans and are looking to strike a deal that will see him leave Madrid next season even if only on a temporary basis.
Bale has been offered a return to Tottenham for a £10m loan fee and Madrid would be willing to allow them to pay less than half of his wages, reports The Sun.
The Welshman is currently on a contact that sees him earn over £600,000 a week a Real and the club are reportedly only looking for around £250,000 a week as part of the loan deal.

“He’s that good and that talented. His head seems to be well and truly screwed on now and his professionalism is shining through.

“The big one which not many people have spoken about is Jadon Sancho,” Ornstein told BBC 5 Live.
“Now Jadon Sancho is among the top targets at Manchester United I understand.
“And Manchester United would be his preferred option if he was to come back and return to the Premier League during this transfer window.
“I’m told that a couple of months ago this was looking like it would be nailed on.
“However, he [Sancho] is reluctant to give up Champions League football.
“He is reluctant to join an unstable club. He wants stability and he wants to win things.
“I’m told never say never but as things stand it’s 50/50 on that one.”

“We’re trying to create an elite environment and with all due respect the place had become a little bit tired in certain areas.

“The interest in Julian Brandt is not going to come to fruition this summer.
“There was previously interest in him, the window before they signed Mohamed Salah in 2017.
“He didn’t want to play second fiddle then and the situation would be worse for him now.

“I don’t know if they have got enough money to do it but I wouldn’t go to Manchester United, that’s for sure.

07:20 UPDATE: Arsenal eyeing FIVE signings
Arsenal boss Unai Emery could look to sign players in five different positions this summer – but he has earmarked two particular priorities, David Ornstein of BBC Sport claims.
Ornstein told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport: “Despite still waiting to appoint a technical director, sporting director, director of football, they have identified targets and conversations are underway.
“They’re looking for experience and youth in their recruitment. Their priorities are a central defender and a box-to-box midfielder.
“Previously in January they came close to a deal for Christopher Nkunku from PSG. This is of course is to replace Aaron Ramsey [who is joining Juventus on a free transfer].
“[PSG’s] Adrien Rabiot is among the players they’ve tried to sign in the past and have a long-standing interest in but he’s quite a complex individual and has had some issues off the pitch.
“As a secondary brief they’d be looking at a wide forward. In January they came close to a deal for Ivan Perisic and had interest in Yannick Carrasco.
“Possibly a centre forward with Danny Welbeck leaving. Eddie Nketiah would then go out on loan if they brought a centre forward in.
“There is interest in bringing in a left back and possibly a right back, but again, those are secondary to the central defender and box-to-box midfielder.”
