15:40 Ronaldo has swayed De Ligt

Cristiano Ronaldo telling Matthijs de Ligt to join Juventus has swayed the youngster on his decision, according to Sky Sports reporter David Reed.

“If it does go through, he would become the second highest-paid player at Juventus behind Cristiano Ronaldo,” he said on Sky Sports’ Transfer Talk podcast.

“And it showed at the end of the Nations League final when Ronaldo went over to De Ligt to say ‘come on, come and sign, come and sign for Juventus.’

“So if you’ve got one of the best players of all time telling you to sign for a club, I’m sure that will hold some sway for Matthijs de Ligt.

“But because it is taking a little bit of time, there are other clubs who would jump at the chance to sign Matthijs de Ligt.

“He’s also wanted by Paris St-Germain and [De Ligt’s agent] Mino Raiola is talking to Paris St-Germain about other players as well, so I’m sure the conversation will have come into play with PSG about the potential of them getting De Ligt.

“Barcelona as well very much interested. Their No.1 target this year and this summer is Antoine Griezmann, but if they are able to get a sniff at De Ligt there is no doubt that they would have a look at him as well.

“Juventus in the box seat, but it’s taking some time to go through.

“We’re hopeful that there’ll be some movement soon enough.”
