Police have begun a murder inquiry after a man was shot dead in Wembley, northwest London.
Police were called to Harrow Road at 8.10pm on Friday evening following reports of a shooting.
Police and armed officers attended, along with the ambulance service, who found a man, believed to be in his thirties, suffering from critical gunshot injuries.
He was taken to a hospital in north London, but died shortly after.
The man’s next of kin have been told and a post-mortem will take place.
A crime scene remains in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
No arrests have been made.
Local people have been told to expect an increased police presence in the area.
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command will be investigating alongside police in Brent.
