There were huge concerns on Court 12 when a spectator required immediate medical attention.
Onlookers described the scene as “worrying”, with play suspended and crowd asked to leave the stands for the paramedics to gain access to the person.
It was not initially clear how the incident occured or what had gone on, but Wimbledon have since released a statement.
“A 60-year-old female collapsed while watching tennis on Court 12,” the statement read.
“She received immediate medical attention and was successfully resuscitated before being transported to a local hospital.
“Play was suspended and the court evacuated to give appropriate space for treatment.”
Kukushkin was leading the No 33 seed 6-3, 7-6, 4-6, 2-2 before the match was brought to a halt.
Journalist Klaus Belastet was on the scene at Court 12 where he reported the scene as “very critical”.
He went on to add the person was “reanimated” while the crowd was being cleared.
An ambulance was then brought to the scene to take the woman away.
The All England Club announced that play resuming on the same court just after 5pm.
Paramedics reportedly used a defibrillator on her and she was talking as she was carried into the ambulance on a stretcher.
