Anthony Joshua makes Andy Ruiz Jr admission

Former WBA (Super), WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has admitted he a period of mourning after his seventh-round TKO loss to Andy Ruiz Jr in June.

“I think I had to grieve and ask myself all the questions you would expect,” Joshua said during an appearance on Eddie Hearn’s ’No Passion, No Point’ podcast.

“People say ‘you lost’; I call it a blip. I can’t wait to get in there and fight him.

“Every time I have fought a champion I have risen to the occasion.”

Conor McGregor fight negotiations rubbished

Former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor isn’t in negotiations to box WBO European middleweight champion Luke Keeler, according to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani.

Early on Wednesday morning, Helwani tweeted: “No truth to reports that Conor McGregor is in talks to fight Luke Keeler in a boxing match on Dec. 14, I’m told.”

Manny Pacquiao digs out Floyd Mayweather

WBA (Super) welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao has refused to rematch Floyd Mayweather Jr if the retired boxer will only face him in an exhibition bout.

“Why an exhibition?” Pacquiao asked during an interview with PhilStar Global. “Make it a real fight.”

Team Pacquiao have laughed off Mayweather’s reluctance to face ‘Pacman’ in an officially sanctioned bout, with MP Promotions president Sean Gibbons saying: “I have no idea what my brother Floyd is up to. Floyd is Floyd. He goes to the beat of his own drum.”
