England must make most of World Cup chance after nullifying New Zealand – Jason Robinson

England were just amazing. New Zealand are the best out of the best and they were made to look ordinary by the pressure England applied.

I always felt this could be their time and that they were capable of beating the All Blacks but I never expected England to dominate the world champions to that extent.

New Zealand didn’t perform but there’s a reason why. England didn’t let them.

Manu Tuilagi’s try was a dream start. It’s easy after establishing a lead to sit back a little but England kept playing and kept pushing. They never allowed New Zealand into the game.

I was concerned at half time about whether they could keep the pace up but England were relentless and physically they were just so powerful.

I’ve never seen New Zealand placed under that much pressure before. Their game was completely nullified.

George Ford gets a lot of undeserved stick and there always seem to be questions over his selection but he really fronted up today and topped the tackle count.

Mako and the Billy Vunipola were always over the gainline but it was the team that was the star.

A rugby team is about a collective and you can only build tempo by everyone doing their jobs right. There were no weak links in Yokohama.

As a former England player this will always be my team and I’m on cloud nine after today.

They must make sure they win the final now. It will represent such a chance missed if they don’t.

To lose in a World Cup final after knocking out the favourites would probably feel worse than if they had lost today.

Eighty more minutes… come on lads, finish the job and make a country proud.
