Man Utd transfer news: Inter Milan are in talks with Barcelona over Ivan Rakitic
Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic could be leaving the Nou Camp very soon.
The Croatian has fallen down the pecking order under boss Ernesto Valverde and has yet to play an entire game during his eight appearances for the club this season.
It is expected that if a fee can be agreed Rakitic is expected to leave during the January window.
However, the report also claims that Rakitic’s representatives are also in contact with other teams, as well as Inter.
Manchester United had reportedly bid for Rakitic during the summer, as boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looked to strengthen his midfield following the departure of Ander Herrera on a free to Paris Saint-Germain.
United had reportedly tabled a bid of €35million (£31.4m) for the player but this was rejected by Barcelona, as the club were looking for a fee of no less than €50m (£44.7m).
However, according to this latest report the Catalan giants have now lowered their asking price for the Croatian to €35m.

And while Inter boss Antonio Conte values the experience Rakitic would bring to his side, the Nerazzurri are still looking to negotiate over the fee.
Rakitic, who has won numerous pieces of silverware with Barca, including four La Liga titles and a Champions League trophy, isn’t happy about his diminished role at the club this season.
And it is understood due to his professionalism and service to the club, Barcelona are looking to help expedite a move away.
This could mean United may return with another bid for the playmaker in the upcoming window or wait to see if Inter can first negotiate a lower fee, before making a bod of their own.
United have been building their shortlist of transfer targets for Solskjaer as the club are expected to sign up to four players in the coming window, with a striker being a priority for the club.
The Red Devils are looking to bring in another forward after choosing to sell Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan for £72m in the summer.
And while they came close to signing Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic in the summer, it appears they have now turned their attention to out-of favour Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller.
United are also interested in Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz and have also reportedly been scouting Leeds Untied midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
