Arsenal boss Unai Emery has spoken to Josh Kroenke
Unai Emery has spoken to Josh Kroenke over his future at Arsenal.
The Gunners boss confirmed that in his pre-game press conference on Tuesday.
Arsenal face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup tonight, as Emery attempts to turn things around at the Emirates.
The Gunners have been disappointing in recent weeks, having dropped five points in two Premier League games over the last week-and-a-half.
First, they conceded a sloppy goal to Sheffield United and lost 1-0 at Bramall Lane.
Then, they threw away a two-goal lead at home to Crystal Palace, in a game which saw club captain Granit Xhaka engage in a spat with his own fans.
With Emery’s position believed to be tentative, it has been reported that the club is considering moving on from the Frenchman two years after he joined the club.
But he told reporters that he had spoken with Kroenke about the problems currently facing the club, suggesting he had no concerns over his future.
Josh Kroenke spoke to Unai Emery after Sunday’s game
“We are responsible, the club and I,” Emery said, regarding poor results.
“We know our responsibility is to help everybody, and also when we are making some mistakes to recognise it.
“Sunday for example, after the match, Josh Kroenke was also in the dressing room speaking with me.
“We were speaking for 10 minutes about the situation but all the time helping each other.
“He’s supporting me, he’s supporting the players, we were talking about the circumstance with Granit Xhaka, saying that he was wrong and we need to manage that with him.
“And yesterday the same, it was the day off for us and the players but we were here also, I was here and also I was speaking with Raul, with Edu, and also speaking with Xhaka.
“But now preparing the match tomorrow is the most important, but also we need the time managing different situations.”
