Lyon are resigned to selling Moussa Dembele regardless of if they qualify for the Champions League next season. Express Sport understands that Manchester United and Chelsea are interested in signing the 23-year-old and will make a move in the summer.
Dembele did not push for a transfer in January, which is understood to have helped relations with the club.
The Frenchman’s patience appears to have paid dividends, with Lyon now prepared to let their star striker go in the summer, according to L’Equipe.
Lyon are ninth in Ligue 1 and unlikely to qualify for the Champions League next season.
Chelsea are set to qualify for the tournament, if they maintain their league position, which could tempt Dembele to London.
The Blues were keen on signing Dembele in January and offered a transfer fee plus Olivier Giroud, but the bid was rejected.
Dembele has been in good form for the French side this season, scoring 13 goals in 21 league appearances.
Lyon made provisions for Dembele’s exit during January, signing Tino Kadewere and Karl Toko Ekambi.
Both forwards were loaned out immediately after signing, to Le Havre and Villarreal respectively, in order to play more games this season.
