Carson Wentz joins athletes helping students ditch tests

June 1 (UPI) — Students across the country are learning to harness the power of Twitter. A Philadelphia-area high school student used it to get Carson Wentz to help him skip a test.

Collin Hurley of West Chester Rustin High School became the latest student to accomplish the challenge on Wednesday. Hurley made a bet with his teacher that if he could get the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback to retweet or like his tweet on Twitter, his class would get out of taking its final exam on Monday.

“Everyone please tag @cj_wentz NO FINAL IF HE RETWEETS BY JUNE 4th,” Hurley tweeted. His tweet also included a message on a dry-erase board asking Wentz for the favor.

Wentz responded about 7 hours later with a retweet and a message.

“…Will this do the trick????” Wentz asked.

Hurley was gracious in his response to the second-year quarterback.

“WE DID IT BABY! CARSON YOU’RE THE BEST,” Hurley tweeted. “GOOD LUCK THIS SEASON #11.”

West Chester Rustin High School is located about 30 miles from Lincoln Financial Field. In May, high school students from Indiana and Iowa also used superstar athletes to get out of tests. Kobe Bryant and Aaron Rodgers obliged with retweets to assist those students.
