Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani says he doesn’t know whether it’s true that Donald Trump has decided not to prosecute Hillary Clinton now that he won the election. But the former New York mayor signals support for the possibility.
“Look there’s a tradition in American politics that after you win an election, you sort of put things behind you,” Giuliani says. “And if that’s the decision he reached, that’s perfectly consistent with sort of a historical pattern of things [that] come up.”

Giuliani said that a lot of aggressive campaign tactics typically were left behind in order to unite the country.

“So if he made that decision, I would be supportive of it,” he said.
But Giuliani explained that he also supported continuing the investigation.
“I think the president elect had a tough choice there, you could go either way,” he said.
President Barack Obama also campaigned on the notion that he would hold George W. Bush and his administration accountable for enhanced interrogation techniques.
But after winning the presidency, his attorney general Eric Holder dropped the investigation, much to the chagrin of liberal activists.
