Man denies killing father on train in Surrey

A man accused of stabbing a father to death on a train in Surrey has denied murder.

Darren Pencille denies killing Lee Pomeroy on a train between Guildford and London on 4 January.

A post-mortem found Mr Pomeroy, 51, died as a result of multiple stab wounds, including an injury to his neck.

He was stabbed nine times.

Pencille, 36, was charged with his murder and possession of a knife on a train.

Pencille’s partner, Chelsea Mitchell, 27, is accused of assisting an offender.

The mother-of-one is charged with transporting Pencille from her home in Farnham after the murder and buying clippers and razors for him to change his appearance.

Mitchell is alleged to have made internet inquiries about CCTV in relation to the murder.
