Tottenham survived with just a point on Saturday as the drew 1-1 with Sheffield United.
The Whites were disappointing at home as they threw away a 1-0 lead to the blades with just ten minutes to go.
Son Heung-Min scored the opener after an hour, poking in from close range after the ball fell to him in space in the centre of the box.
But just minutes later, United were level through David McGoldrick, only for the goal to be ruled out through offside.
McGoldrick was onside throughout the move, but John Lundstram was deemed to have his toe in an offside position by a mater of millimetres.
The goal was ruled out after a three-minute VAR check, something Murphy was heavily critical of on Match of the Day.
“We all felt it was a ridiculous decision,” he said.
“VAR wasn’t brought in for this.
“It was brought in for clear and obvious mistakes, I think this is impossible to say that it’s 100 per-cent offside.
“With the 50 frames-per-second that we currently have, the margin for error is too small.
“It’s ludicrous to have a goal taken away for this, it really is.”
