Leicester proved too strong for Scarlets as they raced away in the final quarter to secure a first Champions Cup win of the season.
After a tight first half, Blade Thompson punished a lax Ben Youngs kick to put Scarlets 27-25 up on the hour.
But the Tigers, who had seen leads of 10 and then 12 points slip earlier in the match, fought back.
The impressive Manu Tuilagi barged over for a try before Jonny May skipped into the corner to wrap up victory.
With fly-half George Ford kicking 20 points off the tee and for many more metres out of hand it was a pleasing way for the hosts to bounce back from their opening-round defeat by Ulster.
Scarlets, who lost to Racing 92 last weekend, found themselves under pressure at the scrum and unable to stem Leicester’s heavy-duty ball-carriers.
With one point from their opening two matches, Wayne Pivac’s side have it all to do to make the last eight.
