Our We Try Before You Buy series aims to take the stress out of shopping and eliminate the number of Post Office visits you make each month to return failed online orders. We’re testing new-season buys so you don’t have to, thus saving you some coin by letting you know what’s worth the spend.
I don’t need to tell you cowboy boots are back — that’s old news now. But the question is, how do you actually wear this potentially tricky trend? Who would have thought we’d see the return of the western silhouette. We last saw these boots sometime in the 90’s when we obsessed over how Victoria Beckham wore them to England matches and watched Britney perform in a pair with denim cut offs and a diamante choker. But this season they’ve undergone a high-fashion makeover all thanks to the likes of Calvin Klein, Maison Margeila and Fendi, just to name a few.
As a stylist I am obsessed with the boots and want to pair them with quite literally everything. But when autumn started to approach, I was unsure whether I could actually wear this trend myself. I find boots really hard to buy because of that awkward ‘jean-hitting-boot-situ’. So it was time to stop browsing and start trying on all the new cowboy boots catching my eye. Cue lots of shoe horns and changing room stress. Keep scrolling to see — and shop — my guide to wearing cowboy boots this autumn.
