Letwin: ‘Well-judged and careful tax increases’

    Conservative MP Sir Oliver Letwin has said taxes could increase for a large number of people in order to maintain trends towards a reduced deficit and increases in spending on public services.

    Sir Oliver told the Today programme the government has to continue their programme of restoring fiscal credibility in order to be protected when the next downturn comes.
